More Metros, Well Bimmer had his fun.....

Geo Metro, why does this car get so much attention is anyone's guess. Could it be its sleek looks, wide tires(not!), or the sound the door makes when you slam it? If you have ever been in one you know the steering wheel is bendable, knobs fall off in your hands(new), list goes on and on. Suppose it's better than an engine randomly catching on fire like the Fieros! This guy, bless his heart tries to give you as much detail as possible, as Engrish can only tell you. Not sure the word "Project Car" could even relate to a Geo Metro, or any Geo for that matter. So glad about this part mentioned in the description from the seller, "I could call you back". Guess it's his choice, after all he has so much invested into this "Progect".

89 Toyota Pickup 4X4

He daily drove it in the backyard and then got to the steep porch where it died out and the heads gave up! No offense to Toyota as they make great cars, parts give up as well as some owners expect the car to last without any care. Wonder if I offered to buy the truck that I could use his porch light there to install the new heads and drive it in his daily driven conditions? Maybe he has something cool like a skateboard ramp in the yard to check out the articulation. Talking about the new car, does he park the new car in the living room so that he is not walking a long distance? Heaven forbid how he parks at the job site...

This car or I mean boat, well whatever it is was listed at one time on Ebay for $3899. Oh how I remember going fishing with dad and taking the Fiero out on the lake to net my first catch. Sure everyone pointed and laughed, but come on its a FIERO!

Feel the POWER

And our final Geo Metro post of the week. I promise.

Elephant Trunk

Since Geo Metros seem to be the subject of the day, here's a pic of one modded with a ram-air intake.

Geo Metro

So Scoobie came across this on cardomain.com., and I thought it would be a good way to kickstart things. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce Lamar's Geo Metro:

Now, I have nothing in particular against the Geo Metro, and I'm sure it's a reliable, economic machine for traveling from point A to point B. This one, however, has been greatly improved upon, as you will see in its owner's words:

- Veilside Style body kit-molded - MSD blaster 2 ignition coil - Custom hood scoop (Took BMW brake light cover and filled the hole with bondo) - Showgun style wing (Measure your trunk and buy the right universal wing. For those who have hatch backs look at the Swift wings. Wing is functional) - Short shifter (Cut it, use silicone and use a universal shifter knob silicone will stop it from becoming undone.) - Shifter boot (no brainer) - Platinum 4 spark plugs are neccessary with ignition coil. Iridium is better. - Under Drive Pulley - Custom air intake (I went to Home depot and grabbed an ABS plumbing cap that would fit the throttle body. I had some ABS tubing lying around grabbed some panty hose to form a cast with fiberglass resin and slapped so fiber glass and bondo on it to make it look nice. Yes it works great estimate 3-5hp for 30 dollars.)

Not content with the improvements brought to his fine vehicle via Bondo, Home Depot plastic plumbing, and silicone, our friend's already looking forward to the future:

Future Mods:

- Christian Graphics
- Aiming for 18 inch on 215/35/18's(
- Turbo set up
- Underbody brace
- Front/Rear upper strut bar
- Lowering Springs
- Lambo Doors

I don't want to question the wisdom of turbocharging, lowering and installing 18" wheels on a Geo Metro (not to mention the Lambo doors), but, at that level of investment (time and money), wouldn't he be better off just buying a used Miata? At least that way he' would have a car that handles decently.

Anyway here are some pictures...

Is it me, or is the custom Home Depot plumbing CAI melting?

I'm sure the exhaust sounds as good as it looks.

Welcome to Automotive Stupidity!

I love cars. I love reading about cars. I love drawing cars. I love dreaming about cars. I spend a good chunk of my online time talking cars with my friends. You get the point.

When not too busy, I play this game with a friend. We look for the stupidest car ads on Craigslist or Ebay, or make fun of the crappiest riced out cars. We lurk in enthusiast forums of all brands, and send links to the most noteworthy stuff.

This blog is meant as a compendium of our findings.

Anyway, welcome, and hope you enjoy the ride.
